Main/Civic Center Library offers RPL Express in-person service
Bayview and West Side continue Tableside Service
The Richmond Public Library reopened the Main/Civic Center Library to in-person services on April 26, 2021. Patrons are able to browse shelves, borrow materials, and use computers, printers, and copiers for up to one hour. Tableside Service, including remote printing, will continue to be offered at the Bayview and West Side Branch Libraries (Tableside Service at Main/Civic Center ended Friday, May 7th). For patrons needing additional time to use a computer, the Library has laptops and WiFi hotspots that can be checked out for home use.
RPL Express Service Guidelines:
A mask or cloth face covering is required for anyone over the age of 2 to enter and remain in the Library, in accordance with County and State Health Orders. The face covering must cover the mouth and nose.
The Library will have limited capacity, including limited computer availability.
Once the Library reaches capacity, patrons will be allowed in on a 1-out, 1-in basis.
The Children's Room will operate as a separate location. Patrons will not be allowed to move between the Main Reading Room and the Children's Room. Staff can retrieve material for patrons from either location.
The Mezzanine stacks will remain closed to the public. Mezzanine materials can be retrieved by staff.
Newspapers will be unavailable until further notice.
There will be no seating within the Library except for patrons actively using a computer.
Public restrooms will be available. Water fountains are unavailable until further notice.
Hand sanitizer and face masks will be available while supplies last.
Sanitizing wipes will be available for shared computer equipment.
Library services will expand as public health guidance allows.
